The Sacred Currency of Time

Simplicity

Some of you have asked why my YouTube videos tend to be shorter than most you’ll find online. The answer is simple, yet it touches something profound that I’ve been contemplating lately.

Time is our most precious currency. I feel this truth deep in my bones now more than ever.

Unlike money or work or even love, we cannot create more time. It moves forward relentlessly, never pausing, never yielding to our wishes for more. Twenty-four hours—that’s what we each receive daily, no exceptions, no bonuses for good behaviour.

This awareness shapes how I create content for you. I don’t want to waste a single second of your day with unnecessary words or tangents. Your time matters to me because I know exactly how valuable it is.

My brevity comes from respect—both for my time and yours.

But this raises a question I find myself returning to often: Are we using our time effectively?

There’s no right or wrong answer here. Time passes whether we’re mindful of it or not. Life continues its forward motion regardless. But I wonder if you ever pause—even for just ten or fifteen seconds—to consider whether how you’re spending your hours truly serves you in this moment.

Sometimes I catch myself at the end of a busy day, unable to recall where the hours went. Other days, I’m struck by how present I felt in each moment, how the quality of my attention transformed ordinary experiences into something meaningful.

When I’m truly honest with myself, I recognise that awareness is the first step toward change. Simply noticing how we relate to time can shift everything.

If you’re reading this and feeling a gentle nudge to examine your own relationship with time, I invite you to take that pause. Perhaps tomorrow morning, before the day’s demands take hold. Or tonight, as you settle into the quiet before sleep.

And if you’re looking for support in finding a rhythm that better serves your life, please know I’m here. We can explore this together, finding patterns that honour the limited time we have while maximising its potential.
After all, the clock is ticking for each of us. The question isn’t whether time will pass, but how we’ll choose to fill it with meaning.
